Morning Routine: Lemon, Ginger and Garlic Water

I have kick-started almost every day this past year with a glass of warm water, lemon and ginger and/or garlic and it has made an amazing difference for me.

I began this routine when I realized that how I start my day has a huge impact on the rhythm of the rest of my day. At first, I took it to boost my immune system. Whenever the weather changed, I would get a terrible cold and was even diagnosed with asthma. My aunt then suggested this as a natural remedy which has actually been relied upon for centuries.

So, I began taking one glass every time I felt I was about to get a cold and I’ve never caught a cold since then. I then began to take it to cleanse my system and aid digestion by flushing out toxins from my body.

How to get into this simple routine:

I squeeze 1/2 a lemon with each glass and add half a tea spoon of garlic and/or ginger to purified/boiled warm water. I drink it first thing before I eat a single thing, or workout, etc. purified water and it should be lukewarm not scalding hot. Avoid ice cold water, since that can shock your body. Always use fresh lemons, organic if possible, never bottled lemon juice.
