Breakfast is usually my best meal of the day. I have to admit that there are times I’ve gone to bed fantasizing about what i’ll have for breakfast the following day. So you can only imagine my excitement about this mix which honestly felt like I was having dessert for breakfast! This beauty is so delicious and filled with nutritious ingredients that instantly fuel your day!
I like to have a filling breakfast and this is perfect for that or even a post-workout meal since bananas are one of the most energizing foods. Another great thing is that ripe bananas tend to be very sweet on their own so I don’t usually add any sweetener to this although at times i’ll add in a few dates as a natural sweetener. I use raw cacao powder which is great since cacao is one of the world’s best sources of antioxidants. I actually added passion fruit to this recipe on a whim and I was so happy about how it turned out. The combination of the chocolate and passion fruit gives it a kick and balances its sweetness! Plus since I love mangoes so much I had to sneak them in one way or another. Mangoes are actually filled with vitamins, fibre, minerals and antioxidants. I also layered this with some homemade granola whose main ingredient, oats, are great for keeping you full for longer, lowering cholesterol and stabilising blood sugar. To me, this tastes like a dream!
