Strawberry, Banana and Coconut Smoothie

I like snacking on fruits during the day and evening and so enjoying them as this deliciously creamy smoothie is great! The combination of strawberries and bananas is simply magical. It actually tastes too sweet but is filled with nutritious ingredients. You don’t even need to add any sweetener to this but if you have more of a sweet tooth, a bit of honey or a few dates blended into this mix will fix that for you! It’s the perfect breakfast, afternoon snack or dessert.

[ingredients title=”Ingredients (serves 2)”]
  • 2 frozen ripe bananas
  • A dozen strawberries
  • 1 cup of coconut or almond milk
  • A few ice cubes (optional)
  • Optional – a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds and chia seeds
  • Optional toppings – dates, chopped fresh fruit, nuts

[directions title=”Directions”]
  1. Peel the bananas and cut them into slices, placing the slices into the freezer for at least two hours or overnight if you have more time.
  2. Once you’re ready to make your smoothie cut the tops of the strawberries.
  3. Place all the fruit in a blender with the coconut or almond milk and ice and blend until smooth, depending on how thick you like it you might like to add more liquid, either more almond milk or a little water.
  4. If you’re feeling more adventurous, why not top off your smoothie bowl with fruits and nuts. I like to add chopped dates, strawberries, apples and nuts to mine. Then sip and enjoy!
