Turmeric Latte

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately sitting in front of my laptop reading and researching for a project as well as an exam I’ll sit for next week! I always find myself sipping on a drink or snacking on something when I do so and this time it’s turned out be this amazing golden mix … turmeric latte! Anyone for some sunshine in a cup?

I only recently tried this latte out for the first time and it’s been a great alternative to a caffeinated drink. Turmeric is best known for its use in curries and rice dishes and it’s now gaining popularity in other uses. This is especially because it is celebrated for having incredible anti-inflammatory properties. Plus, add cinnamon and honey and you’ve got the perfect afternoon pick-me-up! I’ve enjoyed my latte as a hot drink but on a sunny day like today I first let it sit for a while to cool down then sip away! I’d love to know how you like yours when you try it out! xx

 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut milk (or other plant-based milk)

  • 1 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1 tsp raw honey

  • Pinch of cinammon

  • Pinch of black pepper

Directions

  • Mix the turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper and honey together with 3tbsp of hot water to make a paste.
  • Heat the coconut milk in a saucepan and add in the turmeric paste while stirring.
  • Serve into a cup and enjoy! x
